Course Delivery Methods Course delivery methods are reflected on the posted Schedule of Classes in a variety of ways. Below are explanations of how different course delivery methods are reflected in the Schedule of Classes. Please note that course delivery methods could change leading up to the beginning of the semester. Please check the Schedule of Classes regularly for updates.

On Campus Courses

Synchronous On Campus Courses
Classroom delivered courses are traditional courses held on campus at set days and times. In the Schedule of Classes these courses will list meeting days, meeting times, and a building and room number of the set location on campus where the course will be held.

Arranged On Campus Courses
Arranged courses are physically held on campus or at an approved location, but do not have pre-set meeting days and times. Your instructor will contact you to set up meeting times and locations. In the Schedule of Classes these courses will list “Arr” in lieu of any meeting days or times.

On Campus Courses not eligible for Remote-Learners
Certain courses must be held in person due to instruction that requires hands-on activity and/or students to be physically present at the class location, thus they cannot be taken by solely remote learners. (e.g. labs, practicum, clinicals, or student teaching) On the far right-hand side of the page you will see the face-to-face course symbol: Non-Virtual Course. If you are planning on opting for solely remote instruction for the spring semester, you should not register for these courses. If you are planning on opting for solely remote instruction and need one of these courses to stay on track for degree completion, please contact your academic advisor. You may use the “Eligible courses for remote-only learners” filter under “Course Types” on the course database search to find suitable course offerings.

Hybrid Delivered Courses

Hybrid Courses
Hybrid courses are taught through a mixture of on campus and distance delivered meetings. These courses will be displayed in the Schedule of Classes with meeting days, meeting times, and a building and room number of an on campus location. On the far right-hand side of the page you will see the hybrid symbol: Hybrid Course. Your instructor will contact you with the exact meeting requirements for the course.

Online Delivered Courses

Synchronous Online Courses
Synchronous online courses are courses that are taught online through synchronous online meetings. These courses will list meeting days and times in the Schedule of Classes, but instead of an on campus building and room you will see “ONL ONL” as the course location. On the far right-hand side of the page you will also see the online course symbol: Online Course indicating that the course is taught entirely online.

Asynchronous Online Courses
Asynchronous online courses are courses that are taught online, but do not require you to log on at routine, specific days and times. These courses are reflected in the Schedule of Classes with “Arr” in lieu of set meeting days and times. They also show “ONL ONL” for the course location and display the online course symbol: Online Course indicating that the course is taught entirely online.

Distance-delivered Courses

Distance-delivered courses are taught online for students in specific distance-education programs. Students not enrolled in a specified distance-education program will not be able to register for these courses. These courses may be taught synchronously or asynchronously as indicated by the meeting days and times listed. On the far right-hand side of the page, you will see a Online Course indicating this is a distance-delivered course.
